FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — September 3, 2026 — National Alert Security and Protection Services today announced the forthcoming release of Preventing the Next Shot: A National Gun Violence Prevention Strategy—The A.C.T. Method by award-winning author and security professional Aubin M. Jack Sr.

Scheduled for release in September 2026, the book presents a coordinated strategy for addressing gun violence before the first shot is fired. It builds upon Jack’s earlier work, Confronting the Threat: A Guide to Reducing Domestic and Gun Violence, while expanding the focus from individual safety to coordinated prevention involving families, schools, employers, communities, and policymakers.

Preventing Violence Before the Next Shot

At the center of Preventing the Next Shot is the A.C.T. Method:

- Assess: Recognize warning signs, identify risks, and understand the conditions that may allow violence to develop. - Communicate: Report concerns, share critical information, and connect people with help before danger escalates. - Take Action: Intervene responsibly, reduce opportunities for violence, and strengthen the protective systems surrounding families and communities.

The book maintains that America cannot rely solely on emergency response or punishment after lives have been lost. Prevention must begin earlier—when warning signs first appear and families, institutions, and communities still have an opportunity to act.

Jack examines multiple forms of firearm violence, including domestic violence, suicide, community violence, accidental shootings, and mass-casualty attacks. The book provides practical resources such as family safety plans, warning-sign guides, firearm and ammunition storage audits, reporting templates, preparedness checklists, scenario-planning exercises, and community risk assessments.

Preventing the Next Shot also revisits five policy priorities introduced in Confronting the Threat:

- Establish universal background checks. - Keep firearms away from individuals who present a serious danger to themselves or others. - Promote the safe storage of firearms and ammunition. - Restrict civilian access to assault-style weapons. - Strengthen oversight of gun shows and firearm transfers.

Jack presents these proposals as part of a broader prevention strategy that assigns responsibility at every level—from firearm owners and families to institutions, community organizations, and government leaders.

His recommendations draw upon 37 years of experience in military operations, law enforcement, physical security, and crime prevention. His guiding principle is direct: the best time to stop violence is before it begins.

Connecting Crime Prevention and Climate Awareness

Jack is also the author of Crimson Bloodlines: The Rise of King Musa, Africa’s First Vampire, a winner of the International Impact Book Award for Historical Fiction.

Set within a richly imagined African landscape, the novel reinterprets the legacy of Mansa Musa through historical fantasy, vampire mythology, political conflict, and environmental crisis. Its story explores environmental stewardship, leadership, sacrifice, cooperation, and humanity’s responsibility to future generations.

Although Crimson Bloodlines and Preventing the Next Shot differ in genre and subject, they share a central message: serious threats rarely emerge without warning, and failing to act allows preventable dangers to grow.

National Alert Security and Protection Services plans to support both books through interviews, social media outreach, community discussions, and virtual events focused on safety, preparedness, environmental responsibility, and preventive action.
