Morning: Brunch on a patio in the Heights, then a stroll past its colorful bungalows and boutiques.
Afternoon: The Museum District, home to nearly 20 museums. Pick two, then cool off in the shade of Hermann Park.
Evening: Dinner in Rice Village or Upper Kirby, cocktails in Montrose and, if you still have energy, dancing in Midtown.
Sunday
Morning: A walk or a slow coffee in Buffalo Bayou Park with the skyline as your backdrop.
Afternoon: Shopping at The Galleria, home to more than 300 brands and an ice rink, because of course Houston has an ice rink inside a mall.
Or: Head south to Space Center Houston, the official visitor center of NASA's Johnson Space Center. It's Space City, after all.
Evening: End with Viet-Cajun crawfish or a big Tex-Mex dinner. You earned it.
